FINANCE

Drafts, VAT, export exemptions, the official rate on the issue date and PDF documents, all calculated by the system.
Take the 3-minute tour
IN THE PRODUCT

A euro invoice moves from draft to issued, and in that moment the VAT mode, the exchange rate and the proforma are set.

  1. 01

    Set your tax home once

Enter your country and VAT rate. For each client, add the country, tax number and whether it's a business.

  2. 02

    Draft quietly

Drafts are invisible to clients: no email, no proforma, no reminder, and they stay out of every total.

  3. 03

    Issue

One click turns a draft into an invoice due in 14 days. The VAT mode is set, the rate locks and the proforma draws.

  4. 04

    Get paid

Track pending, partial, paid and overdue. Reminders go out near the due date and after it. A receipt draws on payment.

Automatic VAT mode

Standard at home, export-exempt for businesses abroad, none if you haven't set a tax country.

Rate locked at issue

The TRY equivalent locks when you issue, using the last CBRT buying rate announced before that day. Manual entry works too.

Invoices and proposals

Send proposals clients accept or decline. Proforma and receipt PDFs draw themselves, in English or Turkish.

Drafts stay private

Clients never see a draft. Drafts can't be marked paid and stay out of totals, the dashboard and SAI.

Retainers

Monthly or quarterly hour packs. Unused hours roll over up to a cap, with alerts at 80% and 100%.

From scope and time to invoice

Scope creep caught in a meeting becomes a draft invoice. A period's approved hours become one invoice.

Hours beyond a retainer pack are billed at the overage rate.

What it won't do

It won't apply an export exemption to a domestic client. It won't fix a rate before the invoice is issued.

Yes. SmoothOS sets the VAT treatment of each invoice, locks the exchange rate when you issue it and draws the proforma. A domestic client can't get an export exemption: the database refuses it.

The CBRT publishes rates at 15:30 for the next business day, so SmoothOS uses the last buying rate announced before the issue date. An invoice issued on Monday uses Friday's rate. You can also enter a rate by hand.

Set your tax country and VAT rate, and standard or export-exempt mode follows. The exemption note and the rate lock follow Turkish rules today. With no tax country set, no tax is calculated.
